Diana Gorbunova, LGPC

Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor

Hello! My name is Diana, and I am a bilingual mental health provider fluent in Russian and English, specializing in minority mental health, LGBTQIA+ issues, and the psychological well-being of teens and adults facing career challenges, family dynamics, immigration, and aspects of sexual orientation or gender identity. In addition to addressing a variety of mental health challenges, I help individuals manage substance use concerns. By fostering a compassionate and nonjudgmental environment, I guide clients in exploring the underlying causes of their substance use and developing healthier coping mechanisms to support long-term outcomes.

As an immigrant, I value diversity and multiculturalism. I am experienced working with clients from diverse backgrounds and with different life experiences, and for all of my clients, I use an individualized approach.

I employ a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness and trauma-focused therapy, solution-focused therapy, IFS, and more. Utilizing a culturally, identity, and trauma-informed lens, I facilitate clinically focused discussions that promote self-awareness and personal growth. I guide clients in recognizing their strengths and challenges, understanding the emotional impact of their experiences, and developing healthier relationships with their emotions and actions.

Mindfulness plays a central role in my therapeutic work, as it empowers clients to cultivate presence, awareness, and acceptance of their emotions and experiences. I also recognize the importance of spirituality in fostering meaning, resilience, and healing, and I support clients in integrating their spiritual beliefs and practices into their personal growth journeys.

I am also deeply passionate about the transformative potential of psychedelic-assisted therapy and its ability to help individuals address trauma, gain insight, and experience profound personal breakthroughs. I always strive to stay informed about emerging research and best practices in this field.

My style emphasizes collaborative problem-solving, as we work together to identify actionable solutions through evidence-based assessments.
