LARA KLOPP
Licensed Master Social Worker
Hi! I’m Lara Klopp, and I have a passion for helping people discover how they can live their best lives. As an LMSW, I work with clients using CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Talk Therapy to explore areas in their life they want to explore more, patterns they want to change, and ways to improve their relationships. I earned my B.A. in Fine Art and Government from the College of William and Mary, and my Master of Social Work from Florida State University.
My areas of passion are working with children and the LGBTQIA+ community. As an art teacher I realized I wanted to work with children to help them through life’s difficulties, teach them how to set boundaries, and emotional regulation techniques. My desire to help my students led me to become a therapist, so I could work with kids in a more impactful way.
I’ve helped children learn social-emotional skills, navigate grief and loss, and work through the difficulties of anxiety and depression. I’ve worked with LGBTQIA youth exploring their sexual and gender identities. I’ve also helped adolescents who struggle with their relationships in school and at home. I’m honored when families trust me to guide them through the process of learning new ways to communicate with and relate to each other. I’ve also worked with trans adults as they explored their gender identities and navigated the changes that transitioning brings about.
Outside of work, I’m an artist, who loves to explore ways to represent the beauty all around us. I enjoy museums, gardening, and playing with my 3 small rescue dogs. I enjoy sitting quietly with my family as well as a raucous game night.
I would love to help you work through the things that are keeping you from experiencing the best that every moment has to offer – or to help your kids with any issues that are interfering with their education, relationships, or sense of joy.
