Hello, my name is Minali Sharma and I’m glad that you’re here!
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a passion for helping individuals navigate their mental health journey. Originally from India, I embarked on a new chapter in my life by relocating to the United States a few years ago. This journey, rooted in my diverse cultural background, has profoundly influenced my perspective on human emotional experiences within family systems and societal norms.
My education path has been a diverse one too. I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins university, gaining valuable insights and training into the field. My educational foundation also includes a graduate degree in Psychology from India. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings both in India and the United States.
As we all know how every stage of life introduces new challenges that can feel overwhelming and disabling. However, it’s important to remember that within each of us lies the ability and strength to navigate these challenges with equanimity. And I help my clients nurture these already inbuilt resources in them. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, difficult life transitions and strained relationships.
I support women through diverse life roles of pregnancy, postpartum, parenting young children, and work, providing support for marital relationships while prioritizing their own well-being. My goal is to help you overcome difficult childhood experiences, navigate daily struggles, establish healthy boundaries, nurture relationships and honor your own needs. My key focus is on building a connection with my clients and making them feel less nervous and more comfortable with someone they don’t know yet. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Internal Family Systems by keeping Attachment science and Mindfulness in focus to understand the way we approach a situation and address it effectively. I will give you various coping skills to practice in and out of sessions.
I understand that discussing struggles and revealing vulnerability can be very difficult initially. By creating a warm and non-judgmental space, I will help you discover your inner resources and build resilience to navigate life’s ups and downs.
